what a nice evening.

this evening has been well spent - after a not so stimulating organizational behaviour class, i succeeded in locating articles pertinent to the paper i am writing for my social geography class. i then attended a panel discussion on corporate crimes which was pretty good - the prof from england was kind of attractive. that made it fun :) i came home, chatted with my good friend on the phone for about 45 mins - time definitely well spent. now as i sit here, i can hear the lady/girl (?? i'm not sure) who lives below us practicing her opera. she is quite good. oh wow, she just hit a high note and held it ------- phew. i want to be able to sing too! on that note (haha get it? on that note? musical implication haha) i am gonna take my left trapezius pain and head to bed early. nighty night!

a few scattered thoughts:

eleven degrees outside??

take THAT winter! HA!

spring has sprung and the end of term looms in the background. or rather, the foreground. actually, it's not looming at all, it's all up in my face. dang, yo.

well, the bro came and went - we had an enjoyable time hanging out, takin it easy in and around town, eating some good food and hanging out with cool peeps. apparently where he lives, there is still mounds of snow *shudder* on the ground.

OH - the culture show is this friday!! wha whaaaat :) the time of the year most anticipated by a certain group of ladies (of which i am most definitely a part). man, i can't wait. if you haven't been before - go get a ticket! it will be well worth your money.

any ideas?

this past weekend was kind of busy with the dance recital etc. i emerged from it all exhausted - even though i was only in one number...today i got up at 8:30 seemingly out of habit now - my eyes opened and i couldn't fall back asleep. i've been going to bed early these last couple of days because of dance and getting up at around 8ish. last night i went to bed at 2am and woke up at 8:30 feeling fresh as a daisy.

'fresh as a daisy?!' - i knew you'd ask.

well for the first few hours...then the exhaustion kicked in and i started to feel it. the weird thing is my hands would shake as though i was nervous. is it from the tiredness?! thoughts anyone? it's a little bizarre...i'm thinking i might tuck in early tonight.

mmm.

tonight, i indulged in a little comfort food. sardines and crackers. 'sardines?! comfort food??' you may ask - trussed up trinidad style, deboned, deskinned, onions, garlic, (minus a piece of pepper, which i did not have) and a little hot oil added and i was taken back to the days of childhood. all i needed was grandma's porch, the warm trinidad night air, her hammock and a cup of tea - that would have been perfection.

umm i found out recently from my cousin, that her sister's wedding - the one i am a bridesmaid in - is going to have approximately four hundred guests in attendance. can you say: par-tay?? trinidad, here we come!

desperate students.

week 2 post reading week. with it comes the strong need for self discipline, time management and lots of work. it's definitely needed after this past week - i had two papers due, tuesday and thursday, both of which were completed on time. the success of these papers warranted a celebration of sorts - iris and i indulged. in desperate housewives. this is the situation of two desperate students, both of whom sought relaxation after a fairly busy week of mind flexing activities, and live in an apartment sans television. it's at times like these when kazaa/morpheus serves as the perfect substitute for tv. we watched. we ate. we watched. we went to dance. we watched. we watched. we watched. we are all caught up. we have seen every episode up until this point. of course, with the exception of the one aired this evening. heaven help us. after a weekend like that, i need self discipline. i need time management. and i need lots of work! luckily for me, the work part of the equation is just waiting for me. i've gotta get my paper done before the dance recital. so here begins the final stretch. the last few weeks before the term is over. wait i lied - it begins tuesday. tomorrow night is our depth group sleepover! whoo!! it's gonna be great fun. tomorrow is also laundry day - i think every piece of clothing, every bedsheet and towel are currently in my basket. which presents me with a predicament. i am one quarter short of two loads. dang. maybe if i lose a tooth the tooth fairy will leave me that last quarter under my pillow. all i need now is to lose a tooth...um..i gotta go.
